Switching from HoneyBook
What to export, what comes across, and what genuinely doesn't.
Moving CRMs is mostly about knowing what won't come with you. Here's the honest version.
Before you cancel anything
Export your data while you still have an account. Once a subscription lapses, getting at your history is usually much harder.
Check the date range on every export. Reports typically default to a recent window rather than your whole history, so an export can look complete while containing only the last month. Widen it, then sanity-check the row count.
What imports
- Clients — names, emails, phone numbers, tags and notes.
- Past sessions — dates, session types, prices and statuses, if you export projects rather than just contacts.
Our importer already knows HoneyBook's column names, including the ones that don't obviously mean what they say — "Participants" for the client, "Additional info" for notes, "Project value" for price. You shouldn't have to do much remapping.
What doesn't
- Signed contracts. They stay legally valid where they are — download PDFs of anything you might need and keep them.
- Invoice and payment history. Your accounting records live in your accountant's software and in Stripe, not in a CRM.
- Templates, workflows and automations. These have to be rebuilt, and they're structured differently enough that a straight conversion wouldn't be right anyway.
- Files, galleries and questionnaire responses.
A sensible order
- 1
Export everything from HoneyBook
Contacts and projects as CSVs, plus PDFs of any contract you may need later.
- 2
Import your clients
Clients → Import. Read the preview before confirming.
- 3
Set up services, hours and Stripe
This is what makes you bookable. Nothing else matters until it's done.
- 4
Rebuild your contract
Start from one of the four built-in templates and paste in your own clauses.
- 5
Run both in parallel for a few weeks
Take new bookings in Sign&Shoot while existing HoneyBook projects finish out. Cancel once nothing is left in flight.
Common questions
Do my clients need to do anything?
No. Importing sends no email. Clients only hear from Sign&Shoot when you send them something.
Will old bookings trigger review requests?
Sessions dated in the past stay quiet. Anything within the last few days or in the future behaves like a live booking, and the importer warns you when your file contains those.
Can I try it before I commit?
Yes. The free plan has no time limit, and every new account gets 14 days of Pro. Import your clients and see how it feels before cancelling anything.
