What your client sees when they sign
The portal, the magic link, and what gets recorded at the moment of signature.
Clients never create an account. Everything they need lives at one private address — their client portal — and they get in through a link emailed to them.
Getting in
The email contains a link straight into their portal. If they arrive without a valid session — following an old link, or on a different device — they're shown a branded sign-in page with a button reading "Email me a sign-in link". They enter their email, get a fresh link, and they're in.
The sign-in page carries your branding rather than ours, deliberately. An anonymous login box appearing after someone clicks a link about their wedding looks like a phishing attempt.
The portal
At the top is a four-step timeline — Booked, Contract Signed, Deposit Paid, Shoot Day — so the client can see where they are. Below it, whatever needs doing.

The full text, with their own details already filled in.

They draw a signature
A signature pad that works with a finger on a phone. There's a clear button if they want another go.

They tick the consent box
Consent to signing electronically. The Sign Contract button stays disabled until this is ticked — it isn't optional and can't be skipped.

They press "Sign Contract"
They're emailed their own copy immediately, and the booking moves to Contract Signed.
What gets recorded
Signatures are only worth anything if you can stand behind them later. Every signature stores the image itself, the exact time, the signer's IP address and browser, the email address of the session that signed, the precise consent wording they agreed to, and a cryptographic fingerprint of the signature.
The consent timestamp is recorded by our servers rather than taken from the visitor's device, because a browser clock can be set to anything and wouldn't be worth much as evidence.
Common questions
Can somebody else sign using a forwarded link?
No. Signing requires a valid session for the email address on the booking. Someone forwarding the link would have to receive the sign-in email themselves.
Can a client sign twice?
No. Once signed, further attempts are refused.
Does the client get a copy?
Yes, automatically, the moment they sign — plus they can download it from the portal any time.
